Uptown Westerville received front page treatment by Business First newspaper Friday where it wrote about the dynamic changes expected for the shopping district. The primary subject for the interview was Debbie Bennati, president of the Westerville Uptown Merchants Association and owner of A Gal Named Cinda Lou, who posed  for her photo near the State Theatre which was the subject of another story in the same paper.

From Business First:

“Shop owner Debbie Bennati thinks those looking for ways to improve Westerville’s Uptown district have a strong base from which to launch their efforts.

“That includes city officials who are working on a comprehensive plan for Uptown, expected to be completed in July.

“‘The latest trend is to make (town centers) that look just like this,’ she said, pointing out the window of A Gal Named Cinda Lou, her vintage clothing and merchandise shop along State Street, Westerville’s main drag.”

The paper also has an article about Jeff Hartnell of the Westerville Visitors and Convention Bureau and his successful efforts to increase business traffic in Uptown. You can read that story even if you don’t have the subscription.

If you don’t have a subscription and need to read the articles, make a visit to the Westerville Public Library which does have a copy.

You can also stop by A Gal Named Cinda Lou. Deb has a copy on the counter top and she’d be happy to share it with you.
