Ice Sculptures populate Uptown – 2015
Although the weather has been to warm for snow and ice, this weekend certainly loos like it is a perfect time to bring out the annual presentation of ice sculptures in Uptown Westerville.
Happy Birthday, Nora
One-year-old and Uptown Westerville resident Nora looks at her first birthday cake candle as one of her family tries to teach her to blow it out before giving in and doing it for her.
Uptown Deli tabletops built in-house
Mario Nedelkoski smooths out the surface of a poured tabletop sitting on the bar counter inside the brewery at the Uptown Deli. Tables for the restaurant section of the deli are made from recycled oak planks and assembled and finished at the restaurant on North State Street.
Holmes Hotel finial upgrade
Workmen removed the acorn finial at the peak of the Holmes Hotel in Uptown Westerville Wednesday to use as a pattern to build a copper replacement.
The old finial leaked and had been patched numerous times even using a section of 2×4 lumber to prop up one edge.
City buys Book Harbor, begins landscaping
City crews begin clearing overgrown vegetation and removing dead ash trees from the old Book Harbor house on West College just off State Street. The site fell into disrepair when the book store owner died.

Construction Update – September 24, 2014
There are significant changes coming soon to Uptown Westerville. A brewery. An upscale restaurant in the State Theater. A Greek-Italian restaurant. Facade changes. A new jewelry store. All within a two block section of Uptown.
2 Chicks and A Cookie off to the Emmys
It’s all in the swag for 2 Chicks And A Cookie when the Uptown Westerville baker’s decorative and tasty cookies are included in gift bags given to Emmy nominees and their guests at the News and Documentary Emmys in New York City next week.
Midnight Madness for 2014
Midnight Madness in Uptown Westerville is Friday, October 24 from 6 p.m. to midnight with free wagon rides, music, and a family-friendly night of entertainment.
Final Fourth Friday for 2014
September 26 is the last Fourth Friday of 2014. Please make sure you visit Uptown for the last celebration of summer although Fall has already begun.
Bring the kids. Bring your neighbors. Enjoy the food, coffee, tea, and drinks.

Facade upgrades brighten Uptown
You’ll be pleased to see that the scaffolding in front of Talbot’s Flowers and A Gal Named Cinda Lou are gone. The renovations, repairs, and upgrades to the northern section of State Street from Main to the alley next to Pasquale’s is complete.
