Back to Nature is the second of six Mount Carmel St. Ann’s 4th Friday events, held on the fourth Friday of each month, April through September in Uptown Westerville. It will be held May 22, 2015 from 6-9pm to kick off Memorial Day weekend.

Mario Nedelkoski smooths out the surface of a poured tabletop sitting on the bar counter inside the brewery at the Uptown Deli. Tables for the restaurant section of the deli are made from recycled oak planks and assembled and finished at the restaurant on North State Street.

Holmes Hotel finial upgrade

Workmen removed the acorn finial at the peak of the Holmes Hotel in Uptown Westerville Wednesday to use as a pattern to build a copper replacement.

The old finial leaked and had been patched numerous times even using a section of 2×4 lumber to prop up one edge.

City buys Book Harbor, begins landscaping

City crews begin clearing overgrown vegetation and removing dead ash trees from the old Book Harbor house on West College just off State Street. The site fell into disrepair when the book store owner died.
