One of the delights of the Fourth Friday for August was sampling food from two of what will soon be two of the newest businesses in Uptown.

Whit’s Frozen Custard and Shirley’s Gourmet Popcorn offered almost 1,000 examples of their products to the joy of those lucky enough to have passed by while the supplies lasted.

Things were a little different at Asterisk. No food samples were available but future customers got to meet the staff and owner of what will become a supper club in the old Pasquale’s location.
