The Party at the Creek in Alum Creek Park was greeted with clear warm skies, a crowd, free food, and a great time for kids and families.
In its second year, the Party combines WessieFest and Plan-it Green Exposition, two previous events at the park and nearby Otterbein lake into a single event.
Among this years participants were vendors with environmentally-friendly demonstrations and exhibits. Regional wildlife, including turtles, birds and snakes, captured the attention and imagination of kids and adults alike, and educational opportunities ranging from arts and crafts to local safety programs were featured. Free hot dogs, drinks and popcorn made the evening an affordable outing for families.
New this year was the city’s new canoe fleet taking people on a short tour of the creek next to the new Main Street Bridge.
